As a technology coordinator you've got one of the most difficult jobs around.
You've got to keep everything running, stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and ensure that the technology is actually used to improve education.
We believe that no computer-based classroom is complete without LanSchool. Whether teachers are using it for projection or classroom management, it is a proven tool that will help your technology investment payoff.
Here are a few of the 'techie' features that will help you sleep at night.
- 3 years of technical support
- Low network bandwidth requirements - We've tested the competition and LanSchool generally takes 5-20% of the bandwidth consumed by the competition.
If the whole teacher's screen is changing LanSchool only uses around 24K/sec. Because we use a broadcast packet, the bandwidth consumed is the same with 2 computers as with 200 computers.
Most of the competitors bandwidth requirements go up with every computer added.
- Security Monitoring Tool - If you suspect a student is using a unauthorized teacher console, you can quickly identify them with our security monitoring tool. It captures all LanSchool activity to a log file.
- Student Tampering Resistant - We've been around for a while, so we've seen and implemented solutions to most attempts by students to disrupt LanSchool. Savvy student's will have the competitors disabled in a few minutes.
- Multicast and Direct Broadcast Support - If your switches support Multicast, this is a great option to increase performance.
- Low processor and memory requirements - In our testing, LanSchool generally consumes 1/2 of the processing requirements of the competitors and a 1/4 of their memory requirements. In high load situations, LanSchool uses about 4% of the processor and near 6 MB of memory on the client.
- Quick install time - LanSchool does not make you type in lengthy serial numbers. The installation is literally 3 mouse clicks and can be scripted.
- Auto-client upgrade - This feature doesn't require that all computers be in a properly configured domain, as most competitors require. Once LanSchool is installed it is a snap to keep it updated.
- Certified Microsoft Mirror Driver - LanSchool invests in the cost and testing to certify our mirror driver with Microsoft. Most of the competitors are using uncertified drivers or methods of capturing the screen which are susceptible to "blue screens".
